David McSweeney created Tenor Technologies in 2006 to help arts organizations and independent artists use new media to improve their audience's experience. He has 20 years of experience in building and deploying cutting-edge technology solutions. Known as a strong technologist and well-rounded business professional, he provides a unique combination of visionary and practical skills. David is also an accomplished classical music singer, and enjoys an active performing career in the greater Boston area.
Before forming Tenor Technologies, David held numerous executive positions in Massachusetts high technology companies. He was Vice President of Engineering for StarBak Communications, where he created an enterprise platform for both streaming and on demand content distribution. Before StarBak, he served as Vice President of Engineering for ProvisionSoft, building software for the server and storage provisioning market. David joined ProvisionSoft from CMGI, where he was the Director of Advanced Technology for Corporate Development. Prior to CMGI, David was the Director of Engineering at PictureTel Corporation.
David has a BSEE from Brown University. He has served as a speaker and panelist at high tech industry conferences such as Comnet/DC, Network+Interop, and Storage Networking World. In June 2006, David also appeared as a panelist discussing "Podcasting And Other New Media for Choruses" at the 29th annual Chorus America Convention in Washington, DC, and returned in 2007 to present "eMusic 101" at the 30th annual Chorus America Convention in Los Angeles, CA.
